Here at Escape Brooklyn, we’re kinda big on holidays. If you dig deep enough in our archives, you’ll find all kinds of wintery goodness, from our friends’ mulled wine recipes to our holiday potpourri–both of which I can’t wait to make this year. But with so much holiday cheer brewing, the season just wouldn’t feel complete without the stress of completely overextending ourselves–by doing holiday markets three weekends in a row–from upstate to downstate.

I know, I know. We’re crazy. But these are three great markets that we couldn’t pass up. All three locations are stellar, each of which offer a little something different. Check out the schedule below, come say hello, buy something (it keeps us on the road!), and for the love of god, please sneak us a beer!

• November 21–22: Hudson Valley Hullaballoo in Kingston, NY: Our buddies from Wishbone Letterpress put on this indie craft fair in downtown Kingston where arty meets party. Besides its diverse vendors, Hudson Valley Hullaballoo prides itself on its super-festive/party vibe, made complete with an old-school hip-hop DJ, two photo booths, kid’s activities, local food vendors and the like.

• November 29–29: Basilica Farm and Flea in Hudson, NY: Photographed above, the Basilica Farm & Flea is a large-scale market housed in over 17,000 feet of beautiful industrial space, kicking off Black Friday and continuing throughout the holiday weekend. Put on by the hard-working ladies at Hudson River Exchange–in collaboration with Basilica Hudson–the event is massive, with 100+ vendors including regional makers, farmers, and vintage collectors. Food and drinks will be in abundance. The best part? Escape Brooklyn will be presenting the event’s “Back Gallery,” a space combining vintage collectors, vintage re-purposers, and plenty of holiday vibes to go around.

• December 5–6: The Phoenicia Flea in Brooklyn, NY: Our most regular market, this one travels around the Catskills and Hudson Valley during the outdoor market season. Its makers and collectors have captured the attention of Vogue, T Magazine, Design*Sponge, and Sweet Paul Magazine. To end its second season, the Phoenicia Flea is returning to Brooklyn at the Sky Gallery in Gowanus. For an idea of what to expect, check out our many recaps of this event.

We hope these markets make your holiday shopping a little more stress-free–and maybe, possibly, enjoyable–this season. If you have any questions about the markets (we get a lot of them) please direct them to the organizers. We’re simply promoting these awesome events and don’t make any decisions. Cheers, and happy holidays!
