Over Labor Day weekend, we gathered for the Phoenicia Flea at the newly-opened Catskill Interpretive Center in Mt. Tremper. With the beautiful mountains once again as our backdrop and perfect weather, curious locals and out-of-towners came out in droves to shop the curated market of handmade and vintage home goods and apparel, along with yummy edibles from the Catskills, Hudson Valley and beyond. Here’s some highlights from the weekend. (And psst–don’t miss the next one at Coney Island September 19th & 20th in NYC!)

We were really excited to meet new vendor Kate Orne, the creative director behind UpstateDiary. Formerly an editor at Interview magazine, Kate’s latest endeavor documents “the creative possibilities that thrive in communities outside of city limits.” Its collection of stunning photography and stories about Upstate artists will leave you inspired. You can pick up a copy online and at select retailers in the Hudson Valley and Catskills.

The Catskill Interpretive Center is a place where residents and visitors can learn about the unique natural, historical, and cultural resources of the Catskills. Located right of Route 28 in Mt. Tremper, you can’t miss the sculpture garden out front, the building above is at the end of a long driveway, far removed from the busy road.

You can purchase the new fall issue featuring Escape Brooklyn here, or buy it at the next Phoenicia Flea.

The two most famous men at the flea: Lestat and Hugo the french bulldogs! Just kidding–that’s Paul of Sweet Paul Magazine and James Anthony, the creator and curator of the Phoenicia Flea. They’re the best.
