Hello and happy Friday, all!
We’re a little past “peak” fall up here – still beautiful, and with amazing weather this weekend to match. Can you believe November is only one week away?
Determined to cram in as much colorful autumn content as possible, this week we’re bringing you two unique real estate listings — both with open houses on Saturday – plus two lovely travel features.
The first of our two travel features this week is Old Quarry House – from whose living room I am currently writing this, in front of a fire with my morning coffee. (I know, I know, sorry.)
This very airy home is not only beautiful – it also has a private swimming hole and stretch of creek. I know what you’re thinking: summer is over, why do we need swimming holes? Let me tell you: this swimming hole has a spattering of big, flat, sunny rocks on which I had the loveliest nice afternoon picnic. I hope some of you will do the same. (If that’s not your thing, perhaps walking 15 minutes to a waterfall will do it for you?)
During the day, explore the towns of Catskill, Kingston, Windham, and Hudson – all nearby – as are attractions like Art Omi, Olana, and Windham and Hunter ski mountains. At night, evening options include cocktails by the fireplace or stone fire pit outside, or unwinding in the large soaking tub. More on this in the coming weeks, and a note that their fall/winter calendar remains pretty open. Check them out!
Our second travel feature, Modern Farmhouse by the Falls, kicks off our 10/25 newsletter below.
Enjoy the weekend!

Modern Farmhouse by the Falls in Kerhonkson, NY
Quiet luxury meets nature’s beauty at Manage This Home’s newest vacation rental in Kerhonkson, NY. Modern Farmhouse by the Falls launched just a few weeks ago, its mostly open calendar includes Thanksgiving, Christmas and NYE. Act quick!
Start the day on the treehouse-like covered porch, followed by days exploring Kerhonkson’s rich landscapes including forest, waterfalls and farmland. (See our EB itinerary on this area that features MTH sister property Dawson Farmhouse.) In the evening, return to the deck where a grill and dining set make for easy al fresco meals, or opt for the cozy indoors with meals overlooking the fireplace.
At night, this home’s fire pit is especially alluring, surrounded by big boulders and with the sounds of the creek and waterfall in the distance. An alternate end of the day activity includes the home’s soaking tub in the spa-like bathroom.
While you *can* book this house on Airbnb, renting directly from from property manager, Manage This Home, will save you on fees. Here’s that link: Modern Farmhouse by the Falls.
