We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful opening weekend of Phoenicia Flea. The weather was perfect and the venue is one of our favorite hotels in the world–The Graham & Co. in Phoenicia, New York.
Though it’s called the Phoenicia Flea, curator James Anthony is mixing it up a bit this summer. The Flea’s location will change every month–though it will always maintain the scenic backdrop of the Catskill Mountains. The next one is Bearsville (which is part of Woodstock) June 20th and 21st, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., rain or shine. We hope you can make it!
Check out the below for some highlights from Memorial Day weekend.
This is our car, the #EscapeMobile! It’s a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. We bought it on eBay last summer and it’s served us well. Here it is arriving at The Graham & Co.
Our webshop and flea pop-up concept is called The Brew and Compass. During summer months, it’s too hard to keep up with both online sales and markets, so our site is down–but you can still shop it on our Instagram.
The Graham & Co. grounds–between the newly green grass, the pool, the bonfire, and this backdrop, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location. (Also, we’re getting married here in August!)
James Anthony, the curator of Phoenicia Flea, and his partner Paul Einlyng of Sweet Paul Magazine. Huge, heartfelt thanks to James for putting these events together. Bravo!
Will Lytle of Thorneater Comics draws $1 portraits at his booth, sells original prints, and also is the artist behind all of the branding for Phoenicia Flea. Will lives in Woodstock, NY.
Nina Z. sells beautiful handcrafted clogs and fine vintage clothing. Catch her weekends at the Brooklyn Flea or bouncing around the Catskills with us all summer.
Ask yourself: have you ever seen anything like this? Jocelyn Gayle of Petit Felts makes extraordinary needle felted puppets. We’re also big fans of her beau, Andrew Molleur, who makes fine art ceramics; check out his recent profile by AndNorth here.
When Justin and Darbie of Lovefield Vintage aren’t selling vintage, they’re on tour with their band Bishop Allen. Design*Sponge featured an article on their beautiful home in Kingston here.
We first met Rachel of Flisais Parfumerie at Artists & Fleas in Brooklyn this winter. We were glad to see her and her lovely perfumes again (1) outdoors and (2) in a warmer climate. We heard her asking the management at the hotel if they needed part-time staff this summer…
Mike and Chrissy are some of our favorite Hudson Valley vendors. Together they sell d’Avo avocado oil and Hudson Naturals soaps and beauty products. Great products and great people.
Jenn of Ardent Forager sells vintage props and decor out of both Pittsburgh and Woodstock. She had a great assortment at a great pricepoint.
Caroline Wallner of Tivoli Tile Works. Not only is she a good customer of ours, but her pottery is absolutely incredible. We’re saving our pennies for a full set!
