The third Phoenicia Flea of the 2015 season was held at the Spruceton Inn in West Kill, New York. We couldn’t have asked for a lovelier backdrop; the combination of the rolling green mountains, the throwback motel and the wildflower fields created the perfect setting. And even though the location was far more remote than usual, shoppers came out in droves to shop the curated collection of vintage and handmade vendors. Here’s some highlights from the weekend. (And psst–don’t miss the next one at Westwind Orchard in Accord, NY on August 15-16th!)
This time around, our traveling market landed at the Spruceton Inn, a nine-room “bed and bar.” Check out our feature on this property here.
The beautiful Honest Alchemy Co. out of Philidelphia, PA was a new favorite vendor of ours. Artist Elizabeth McTear creates these gorgeous hand-dyed goods crafted from natural fibers and plant-based pigments.
Rachel McKeon of Flidais Parfumerie quickly made friends with George of Small Room Collective.
Tivoli Tile Works never fails to inspire; how cute are these hand-painted mugs?
Blake and Ben of The Village Common always have an inspiring collection of vintage finds; not to mention their lovely handmade home products! We love our matching Appalachian candle and room spray.
Based in Newburgh, Aaron of Industrial Craft creates stunning and unexpected variations on everyday objects. We fell in love with the Ray Candle, made from pressed borosilicate glass, reminiscent of vintage airport runway lights.
These colorful hand-embroidered pillows and pillow covers by Nahual Mexico are everything, are they not?
Our friend Jen of The Ardent Forager is so inspiring–and seemingly always traveling cross-country to find the best vintage goods. You never know what she’s going to show up with! A recent trip to Ohio yielded great reward.
Speaking of traveling cross-country–our friends Travis and Lauren of Small Room Collective are the coolest. They’re on the road 9 months out of the year, buying, selling, and exploring what this beautiful country has to offer… all from the comfort of their pristine Airstream that Travis refurbished.
Colorful African prints in dresses, tanks, pants, bags, onsies–you name it, Royal Native‘s got it–and boy are they pretty.
Hey–that’s us! This hand-painted photo-op by Will of Thorneater Comics has quickly become iconic for the Phoenicia Flea.

Hey, that’s us! Check out our webstore The Brew and Compass. Our neighbors are the awesome Lovefield Vintage from Kingston, NY.
Mountain Honey Clothier had the most adorable kids clothing, toys and accessories. We loved these throwback pop-up dolls. Artist Diedre Lozier hand-crafts these these goods using organic and other responsibly sourced materials in the mountains of Vermont.
Perfect, perfect, perfect.
The fashion police were out in full force! Zoren, wearing The Royal Native, takes a break from helping his mom at Phoenicia Honey Co.
We love the story behind Jay Teske’s leather business: man works in tattoo shop, man quits tattoo shop to tour Asia on motorcycle. Man begins making leather seats for motorcycles, then saddle bags. Man likes working with leather, and a couple years later, man opens leather goods shop in Kingston, NY. Not only is the story great, but the craftsmanship and products are impressive.
One of the many vintage vendors in attendance was Dusty Rose Vintage out of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Maresa is one of the region’s only vintage wholesalers! Her warehouse is appointment-only during the week, but open to the public on weekends.
This bachelorette party made a day of the Phoenicia Flea after staying in a nearby luxury cabin.
