In warm months, proximity to hiking within the Windham-Blackhead Range is superb, with many options for length and difficulty; there’s also excellent hiking at (popular ski spot) Hunter Mountain to its 4,040′ elevation fire observation tower, with options for a full 7 mile hike – or hop on the Hunter Mountain Sky Ride to knock a few miles off for a more moderate jaunt. (Of note: this attraction is also super popular to take in fall foliage!) Further afoot, Slide Mountain and Overlook Mountain are some favorites, both under an hour from the home.
Back at the house, Modchalet’s primary bedroom is just steps from a luxurious bathroom with a jacuzzi soaking up. Kitchen and dining space is open, perfect for socializing while prepping cozy meals at the house. Upstairs, two additional bedrooms each have multiple beds and share a second bedroom; the compact house easily accommodates 10 guests. At night, gather around the fireplace, a pellet stove that functions easily with a remote – so you can get cozy quick without the hassle of handling firewood.
