Set in the upper Delaware Region of the Catskills, the Cadosia Schoolhouse is the perfect place for big groups to travel together–whether it’s for relaxing, or serving as a homebase for an active getaway. Furnished in an upcycled, shabby-chic style, the artists who run this place have been working on it for 20 years, bringing the place new life after the school closed in the 1950’s. The property is located in a picturesque location, with streams on two sides, a fenced in organic garden, and roaming chickens.
While you’re here, there’s tons of amazing outdoorsy activities to get into. Hike Jensen’s Ledges in Lordville, NY for waterfalls and incredible views of the Delaware River Valley. Or take in the scenery from the river itself on tube, kayak, or canoe via Soaring Eagle Campground. It’s just 5 minutes into the town of Hancock, where Uncle Brother serves up incredible food in an old auto repair shop/art gallery during summer; and 20 minutes to Callicoon, where you can hit the regions most popular farmers market on Sunday before heading back to the city.
