Thank god it’s Friday. Don’t get us wrong, we’ve had a great week–we mapped out travel plans for next two months, met with some incredibly talented creatives, and we landed on Fathom’s 24 Best Travel Blogs and Websites of 2015. But we’re ready for the long weekend. To celebrate, we thought we’d announce our grammin’ getaway giveaway!
Here’s the deal: tag your photos #EscapeBrooklyn on Instagram for the chance to win a two-night stay at The Graham & Co. in Phoenicia–and breakfast (or lunch) for two at Phoenicia Diner! Flex those creative muscles and show us how you “escape” Brooklyn. (And no, you don’t have to actually have to leave the city.) Whether you’re actually traveling, or just sitting at a fireplace bar somewhere, we want to see your idea of escaping!
If you’ve never been to the Catskills, now’s the time. Let me paint the picture for you: arrive Sunday afternoon, check-in, unpack, and walk into town for pizza and beer at Brio’s. Sunday night, head to the common room with a big wood-burning fireplace, or sit by the bonfire outside and make s’mores with your fellow escapees. Pass out. Wake up Monday, grab some Southdown Coffee (provided in common area) while you’re getting ready, then head to Phoenicia Diner for a pre-hike brunch. Hike at Giant Ledge in the afternoon. Breathe in some mountain air, take a ton of photos, and don’t forget to pack a celebratory beverage for when you’ve reached the top. After you’ve made it back down the mountain, head to nearby Peekamoose for a post-hike meal and a drink. Splurge for dessert–it’s worth it. Monday night will be quiet at the hotel, so relax and enjoy the fire and indulge in some board games. Sleep blissfully. Tuesday morning, head to Mama’s Boy after you’ve checked out for some coffee and pastries, walk around town and pick up some souvenirs. On the road home, take Route 28A and stop at the Ashokan Reservoir for an incredible view of the Catskills. We’re just guessing, but your Instagram feed might look something like this:

Good for a Sunday and Monday night stay in a standard single queen room. Must be used by April 1st. Breakfast/lunch for two doesn’t include any booze–but check-in at the Graham and Co. does! (Also, leave your own gratuity.) If you do the hike, be prepared for winter hiking and dress appropriately. Winner provides their own transportation–you can take the Trailways Bus to Phoenicia, but we recommend renting a car to adventure beyond Phoenicia (it’s a small town.)
